Breach Of Website Copyright.

September 17th, 2008 Posted in Marketing

In this age of the Internet and World Wide Web, Breach of Intellectual Copyright is a major issue and something which should be watched at all times. It appears that many small companies find it very hard to create their own websites, and the content which appears on them, so find it much simpler to copy content from a competitors website and placed it on there own, this is illegal and is a criminal offence.

At Mailbox Nationwide we have the World Wide Web checked daily for any copied content from our website, which unfortunately seems to be a daily occurrence which is pounced upon instantly. We do not take this breach of our intellectual copyright lightly, we will give one request to have this copied content removed instantly, if this does not happen we will report the offending site to all the major search engines for removal from their search results, for having illegal content upon their website, we also then ask our corporate lawyers to issue proceeding against the website owner for the offence of breach of copyright.

We urge all companies that have websites to use the Service from Copyscape to check for copies of your website, I think you may be amazed at how often it happens.

It never stops amazing us how foolish some people are, to the extent that we have found content copied from our website and placed on another that still had the Mailbox Nationwide name left in. Another leaflet distribution website that was made up of content from 3 of the major leaflet distribution companies sites, and the most surprising of all, we had our entire website copied, and the only changes were the company name and contact details, needless to say I don`t think these companies will ever copy content again.
